Is the Ikea Besta system sturdy?

I don't have an Ikea nearby to check it out myself and was wondering if the Besta System is sturdy enough to hold alot of books without sagging?

The shelves can hold up to 66 lbs.  My daughter bought 2  of the tall bookshelves recently and is satisfied with them.  Just so you know, you have to have attach the bookshelves to the wall to insure stability.  They're made from particle board, so make sure that you attach them properly to your wall for safety reasons and added support so they don't warp.

Up to 66lbs per shelf, so for the 192 cm tall one, if it's mounted properly, it will hold 264lbs. It won't sag immediately, but it's pressed fibreboard, so eventually it will give way (but Ikea should be selling extra shelves in the next few years). Besta is better qualtiy than Billy, but not as good as Markor or Leksvik (then again, Markor and Leksvik are stained wood).
