  1. I have several problems with the proposed nuclear deal with India.

The first is procedural.  If the USA wishes to enter in with an agreement with India then I would say this is a treaty and according to the Constitution of the USA, such a treaty must be submitted for approval to the Senate.  By calling this an executive agreement, the President is effectively re-writing the Constitution to state that only Presidential approval is required to enter into a treaty.  I know there's a long history of this but that doesn't make is right, legal or Constitutional.

My other problem with nuclear deal is that the Indians refused to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty(NPT).  The NPT is a very important treaty to reduce the spread of nuclear weapons and it was signed by the USA.  It is in the interest of the USA that an international framework be in place to reduce the spread of nuclear weapons.  By making a nuclear deal with India, the USA is in effect saying the NPT can be ignored.

Another problem is that by making a nuclear deal with India, the USA is saying that it's not concerned about a nuclear arms race or war in Asia.

From Wikipedia, "Recent studies undertaken by the CIA cite the enduring India-Pakistan conflict as the most likely to escalate into nuclear war. During the Kargil War in 1999, Pakistan came close to using their nuclear weapons in case of further deterioration. In fact, Pakistan's foreign minister had even warned that they would "use any weapon in our arsenal", hinting at a nuclear strike against India; the statement was condemned by the international community with Pakistan denying it later on. It remains the only war between two declared nuclear powers.

The 2001-2002 India-Pakistan standoff again stoked fears of nuclear war between the two countries."

I would say that this nuclear deal could be a very bad move for the world as well as the USA.
