Is the International Court of Justice the first World court?

  1. I don't believe so. War crimes trials at the Haque started I think after WWI, though I'm not 100% sure. Also, one of the first federal laws in the United States, signed by president Washington, allowed foreign crimes to be tried in the US under certain circumstances. I'm sure there's older than that too.


  2. It's the first permanent World Court.

    There was a temporary world court set up for the Nuremburg trials, but it was disbanded.

  3. I care about the United States, and this dumb world court should be shunned.

  4. Hardly.  It will be a very long time before we have anything by that name.  In order to have something of that power, there wold have to be peace among all governing parties involved and I just don't see that happening anytime soon.
