  1. The iPhone is definently worth it. I bought mine about 3 months ago, and since then I have made tons of friends and seem to not have enough days anymore for all my dates.  I use my phone's calender to keep me on schedule.  You will be one of the coolest people in your school if you get an iPhone. You might even be voted class president whether you run or not.  I highly recommend it.

  2. The Iphone is a pretty cool phone but the next generation of touch screen phone now out is the "instinct"

Many phone makers are trying there best to compete with the iphone and this one is running tops with it. Give it a search and see. It really does some cool stuff

  3. If your main goal is to use the iPhone for basic calling features, I would have to say that it is NOT worth it. You are better off getting a free phone from your cell phone carrier. Although, you might think that the new iPhone 3G priced at $199 is a good deal, think again. Its $199 with a 3 year contract of a data plan which is starting minimum at I think around $60-70 a month. So in the short run (about a couple months), you are covering your costs, but in the long run, its more expensive to use the iPhone from your cell carrier than a regular phone which is very well able to call and text message. If you want to experience the hype of the "i" community, I recommend you buying an iPod Touch. It has wi-fi, so it serves as a great internet tablet. Its almost a substitute for not carrying a bulky laptop to school.

  4. if your parents are paying for it all than yA!!!!

  5. Considering the price and $70/month for ATTs plan, that's about $1000/year.

As about what phone to get, it all depends on what you use it for.  If you only make phone calls and text messaging, any "free" phone will do.

  6. I personally don't think it's worth it... it's too big for my taste. I don't need the gigantic screen. There are other web-enabled phones out there that are smaller & have a QWERTY-type keyboard (or really good predictive text). I definitely suggest looking around the different stores in the mall to see what features you like & how big of a phone you want. Some are just clunky.

Also, www.phonescoop.com is really helpful for what's out there.
