When an interviewer told Cheney that two-thirds of Americans say the war in Iraq is not worth fighting, Cheney scoffed. The administration would not be "blown off course by the fluctuations in public opinion polls," he vowed.

    However, did you know polls aren't always accurate?? I don't remember being asked about this.

  4. No, your thoughts are not important and neither is the rest of the idiots that don't understand that winning is everything.  As a leader one has to do what is right, not what is popular with a few suffering from a mental disorder.  You should move to anyplace that would have you.

  7. We have made it our business.  Our national interests are very cought up in the well being and and availability of of the oil producing countries to produce oil and to make it available to us.

    Our people have made this necessary because we have crippled our ability to use our own oil through the environmental legislation which we have enacted.

    Every one of us uses oil on a daily basis.  It is a commodity which is necessary for our economic survival.

    To cast aspersions on our political leaders because they do what is necessary to safeguard this supply is a lot like screaming at our parents because something has to die before we can eat it.

    We need to all accept responsibility for the fact of our need for oil.

    If we don't like the necessary evils surrounding the securing of oil, then we need to find another way, like use our own.

    If we are unwilling to do that, then we should shut up when our leaders do what is necessary to secure it for us.

I don't think that poll is accurate.  I could pick and chose the people I want to ask a certain question and get the results I want.  If I want the poll to go my way I would go to a certain demographic to get my favorable results.  For example: If I wanted to get a favorable result against the war I would poll people I knew were against it.  I hate it when people say we are at war against Iraq.  No we are not.  We are in a war against terrorism and it just so happens that all of the parties involved have chosen Iraq and Afghanistan as the theater in which it is all taking place.  Do you really think they would all come here to the US and have an all out war???  They might bomb something and then turn tail and run but they wouldn't do a full scale attack to last for years here.  It would be stupid.   They would have to involve whole governments to do that.

That's not saying that it should be stopped JUST because two-thirds of Americans say its not worth it, it should only be stopped when its not necessary anymore. And, I hope you understand about context, because this article doesn't give a lot of that, and definitely not enough to judge.

    Just like he could care less what the American people think. The last I knew this was supposed to be a "government of the people, by the people and for the people" and Cheney in all of his arrogance says "SO".

    This is a Civil War that is going on in Iraq which is sponsored by Iran.

  14. Yes, the civilians should not interfere in the matters of Government dealings with other Government.  Every citizen should think about how to make the government better and ask the government to give food, shelter and protection for every common citizen.
