I'm from sicily and I can ensure that the island is more than safe. Well It depends on where you go, like for other countries and cities. Go and visit sicily it's the garden of Europe. Fantastic seasides and beautiful cities. From romanian archeological finds, roman greek theather, such Siracusa and Tindari (ME). I strongly reccomend you to visit Tindari and spend some days on the fantastic beach. Go and don't be afraid.

please... they don't care anything about tourist o simple people, they meke billions dollars in another ways, you'll never meet a real mafioso, it's not an "american movie", real world is different!
