Is the Kite Runner a good book?

Question

I have to read it for my honors class over the summer. I'm on page 170 and it seems okay, but does it get better? I've heard it's amazing and I don't see the book really getting anywhere. Opinions please? Don't give anything away. I'm a reader but I really feel like this book is eh-- Thanks.

it does get better after a while ..

the beginning is rather lacking,

but later on the story, when it

reaches the climate, you can't

put it down :) of course, you might

not like it because everyone has

different genres of books that

they like.

I think it is an awesome book.  When I read it I thought it was one of the best books I had read in a very long time, and I read a lot.  But I can see how it might not appeal to everyone.  It depends on your tastes in reading material.
