  1. Last year Kyle was not performing the way he is this year. He also had attitude problems at Hendrick.

If he had stayed at Hendrick he would probably still be in 5th place and angry instead of where he is.

Jr is doing better in Hendrick equipment than Kyle did and that is the only measurement we have since Kyle is in a different car and team.

I don't think the championship has been decided yet. I wouldn't want to bet against Jimmie Johnson winning it.

  2. I wouldn't call it a blunder.

    It was a calculated risk.

Dale Jr is a money making machine, and Kyle Busch wasn't performing.

But with the performance of both teams this year, your question leads to more questions.

    1) Is Hendrick's equipment that inferior to Toyota's at this point and time?

    2) Can it be that Dale Jr just isn't as great as the media hypes him?

  3. They are not regretting this trade nobody at Hendrick liked Kyle Busch he was gone no matter who they got to drive his car.

  4. No.  I'm sure Mr Hendrick is losing no sleep over losing Mr Busch.  Kyle wasnt tearing it up over there last year and you cannot assume he'd be doing any better this year, especially considering how mediocre JJ and Gordon have run.  Kyle found a great place at Gibbs for himself and is doing awesome.  I doubt there are regrets from either end.

  5. It will always be one that's questioned but my personal opinion is that it's worked out for everyone over the long haul.

  6. Black holes nailed it!!

  7. read this maybe you trolls ull be quiet

  8. dude! NASCAR doesn't even race in Portland.

  9. How can you say that, unless you are just trying to stir the pot?  Other than a handful of races, he hasn't accomplished anything other than leading the standings in the first half of the season.  We will see where he finishes and if he ever wins a championship.  Kyle is a great driver but they obviously have some handling issues figured out at JGR and the extra horsepower from those Toyota engines isn't hurting him either.  I don't think Kyle will win 6 championships (like MJ did) but we shall see my friend.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  10. Yes.  Hendrick is regretting it Championship wise.  He's happy for the cash that Dale Jr. brings in though.  Thats all that really matters to him.  Watch Casey Mears take off once he is away from Hendrick.

  11. No way. Plus, who knew how Jordan would turn out to be a superstar. More have been busts than hero's.

Ryan Leaf (football) comes to mind. What a ya-hoo. Had it all, couldn't handle it. The next coming of Bart Starr.

NASCAR is all about $$$$ big time, talent secondary.

  12. Everyone wins.

    HMS got an ATM

    JGR got a winner

  13. No b/c HMS got the 2008 Sprint Cup Champion when they got rid of Busch.

  14. You'd think so, but Kyle never had the success he currently is having when he was with Hendrick. Its not like everyone was expecting him to be this good this early on. And whose to say he'd have 5 wins this season if he was still with the 5 car?

Either way its win/win from the swap. Both drivers are currently running up front and are in the top 3 spots in points. Its just obvious Kyle is having the higher level success of the two currently.

  15. h**l yeah it is. they pass up the best driver in the series to get a guy  who has like one win in two seasons and has only gained fame because of his name.  His one win was bullshit too.

  16. AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAH AHHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH... AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH... AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH... HAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHvAHAH AHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHHA HAHAHA HAHA H AHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

    Oh, were you serious?

  17. He wasn't very good at Hendrick Motorsports. I think it might be Steve Addington. He and Steve seem to click somehow. He didn't clic very well with Alan Gustafson.

Either that or he's getting to eat candy all the time and has a lot of sugar rushes.

    (M&M's, Skittles, Combos, etc.)

  18. I can't say it was a blunder... it seems to have been a win/win situation... the only person who seemed to lose out in the situation was Tony Raines.  Hendrick got a superstar, Gibbs got a great driver, and J.J. Yeley got a top 5 finish...

  19. it might have been a blunder, but we will never know.  kyle was really coming into his own at hendrick, going from a 20th place finish in 2005 to a 10th place in 2006 to a 5th place in 2007.  who knows what might have happened in 2008 if he were still in the #5.

overall, it was a win/win deal for those involved. junior was unhappy at dei, and hendrick must have been unhappy with kyle at hms. otherwise hms would have dumped mears instead of kyle last year and not waited until this year to dump mears.

it would be nice to even be able to say for sure in hindsight, but there are too many variables to consider to judge accurately.  personally, i believe it was a mistake to let him go instead of casey mears, but for all i know, he might not have done as well had he stayed as he is doing now at gibbs.

  20. Hey!!!

The Rockets passed on him too!!!! Sure they got Hakeem, but......BAH!

  21. The problem is HMS has always had a problem with keeping all its teams competitive. No matter who they put in the what used to be 25 car now the 5, always was far behind the other teams. Hence when they got DEjr. they swaped teams and gave Mears the junk team.

  22. Yep Gibbs got the 2008 Cup Champion, Hendrick got a trinket salesman. Guess it depends, in the short run Hendrick is ahead money-wise, Gibbs is ahead win-wise and talent-wise. Plus after Kyle wins his first (of many) Cups Gibbs will be making lots more from him in endorsements and Nascar bonuses than the Trinket Kid will ever bring in.
