Im 18 now, i don't have much of a high school career, i don't even think i might graduate but i'm trying as hard as i can...but it's a little to late. So my uncle came and lent me a hand, he would provide the money needed to open up a shop. I think it's on a great area, so what do you guys think? What kind of money is involved in Opening and profiting from the liquor store business.

  1. It will take a lot of work, and about $250,000 inventory to get started.  The liscences, leases and store set up about another $125,000.

Check with your local Chamber of Commerce, they can probably help get you a lot of information.

  2. depends on how many drunk bum's you got walking down the street, I reccomend a slightly bad area for a liquor store,  the people living in nicer areas tend to go to other places besides liquor stores for alcoholic beverages. Why not just go get your GED and go to college? I'm 18, just graduated, Many of my friends didn't graduate, but they are going to trade schools and community colleges for free, yes free. It's called Financial Aid. I'v e never worked before and I just got a job at a pretty upscale restraunt as a server. I don't think you should settle for being the dude who owns the liquor store.

  3. I think you should focus more on your education. Having a liquor store might not support you for the rest of your life. It's rather risky. What will you do in the case, for instance, that you lose your business? Or if it doesn't make much income? You're better off finding a good job with a good education that without. You can at least try to get a GED if you didn't do so well in high school and pursue a higher education.
