Is the Lisbon treaty like the Nice Treat part 2?

The referendum commission has finally sent out those little booklets to explain what the Lisbon treaty is all about. It didnt really help me much.

The politicians arent very helpful either.

Their opinion seem to be:

-its all too complicated for the likes of ye to understand

-its not complicated at all

-the outherside are scaremongering

-the other side are pulling the wool over your eyes

and so on ....

Most people I know cant deicide what to think. I foresee a low turnout and a no vote in which case,

Do you think it will be a case of the Nice treaty part 2?

If you dont remeber or werent of voting age for that we gave the "wrong answer" (no) so the government said

"ye didnt understand it" and asked again until they got the answer they wanted.

Do you think they'll keep asking us until we say yes?

Should they be allowed?

Shouldnt they take the first answer they get?

  1. europe sucks @ss

  2. from what i hear its very similar to nice.

    I personally am strongly against the idea of it, its basically making all the countries within the eu to answer to 1 government. which for us mean;

we'll no longer be neutral, our tax will rise (we have one of the lowest tax rates in the world atm), business's from other eu countries can come set up with very little red tape and charge a common pay rate, which will in turn reduce our wages, and with the cost of living the way it is will not be good. all in all it will have adverse effects for IRELANDS economy.

    so I vote NO.

  3. Sher nobody has a bull's notion what it's about!
