Is the Martingale betting system banned in vegas casinos? Specific to roulette tables.?

Yeah, so I went againt everything you guys just told me and tried it on a casino online and lost $800. Last time I don't listen to you!

all systems are welcome in any casino...casino profits are based on percentages.   the martingale system is one of the quickest ways to get to the percentages...starting at a dollar and having lost eight bets in a row and down $255.oo  your final bet before you hit the table maximum of $500.oo  you bet $256.oo to try to make a quick profit of one dollar.  ask any employee at the casino if you are allowed to use the system and they will probably tell you the odds of losing 9 bets in a row like odd/even  red/black are astronomical

Many gamblers use the Martingale. However you must stop at the table limits, so there are not many bets you can make in a row using it. Casino operators love people playing this way because once the maximum bet amount is reached, the recovery advantage is lost.

no. i use it once in awhile but its still a losing system in the long run, i actually made quite a bit of money using it in vegas recently on video blackjack. i was jsut s******g around, i started at a machine with $60, min was $1 and max of $50 and just went back to $1 if i made it to my max bet, i kept playing because i was winning like crazy and ended up with about $500 in profit over 3 hours (but i got lucky and only lost my max bet once that session). then i went back that night to see if i could break $1000, but just ended up blowing through $200 of it. then i tried again at a local casino this weekend and blew another $100 so i think im gonna stop using it now :(

The Martingale is welcomed by every casino around the world!  Do you know why?  Because it doesn't work.  Casinos set their limits so that you cannot double your losing wager more than 7 times in a row.  Think you can't lose seven times in a row?  So did the bum on Freemont street living in the gutter.

To answer your question, no the martingale isnt banned, cause it makes the house too dang much money!

For the martingale to work, youd have to have someone who'd take your bets to infinity and never cut you off no matter how high your bet gets to recover your losses +1 unit.

And to answer the Santa avatar, yes there are casinos that have a max payout on the roulette table, my local casino, case in point, caps payout on one spin to $3,500 per individual bet.

Not specifically, but the Casinos do have regulations in place that severely limit the effectiveness of the Martingale system (not that it's all that smart to begin with).  Most roulette tables have a minimum and a maximum bet that you are allowed to make, as well as a maximum payout.  These three things make the Martingale system nearly impossible to profit from.  It only takes a few losses before you run into the table maximum, which blows the central principle of the Martingale system out of the water.

Whether or not there is a max payout depends on the casino I guess, because I have seen some with a max payout as a way to control inside betting.  If someone hits a straight up and a split bet (and yes, I've seen people do this) then you can win a lot of money on a single spin, so some roulette tables have a max payout per spin.

Martingale is not banned but it doesn't work.

Also all tables have both a min and a max bet so even if you wanted to waste your time and money using this system you'd quickly hit the max bet and not be able to proceed.

No it's not banned but it's not a good system in casinos we have a maximum bet it will allow you to double 5 or 6 times.

A note for I hate lazy people there is no maximum payout on a roulette table you will only find it on poker tables.

Absolutely not. They love people who use the Martingale system. If you plan on doing it, you should call up the casino you want to stay at, ask to talk to a host, and tell them you want to play a Martingale at the roulette tables. They will welcome you with open arms, and most likely comp you a suite and all your meals while you're there, assuming your bankroll is sufficient to play such a system (at least $10,000).
