i am not sure which subject test to take? If you have taken both the biology and math level 2 subject tests could you please tell me which one was easier for you? it would be deeply appreciated

also if you have only taken 1 of the subject tests could you rate its difficulty? thanks :)

  1. It really depends on the person. If you don't like Pre-Calc/Trig, then Math II isn't for you, if you don't like Bio, same thing.

I never took Math II but I know it covers a good amount of material (Everything in Math I plus another year of math) without too much formula help. I did take the Biology one after taking Biology at an Honors level. It wasn't hard, but I didn't do too well. I thought that it was a lot of stuff to memorize and that is why I found it difficult.

  2. i took both in one sitting. the biology one was easier than the math 2. math 2 was easier than i expected,  but i didn't do as well as i thought i did. but it is meant to take after a pre-calc class. i think the only reason why biology was easy was because i was taking AP biology (which really did help, because there were a lot of things that i only learned in AP biology that i didn't learn in honors bio). however, it really depends on the person. if you are a math person math 2 will feel easier than biology.

you also have to remember that there are two biology subject tests. one for enviromental science and the other for molecular. i took the molecular, which people generally score higher on.

  3. Comparing Math II and Bio is like comparing apples and oranges--they're both SAT subject tests / fruit, but preference is personal. Generally speaking, Biology is more memorization, while Math is more of an understanding-the-concepts kind of thing.

I took the Bio test (after taking honors molecular biology) and didn't do too well...but I think I would have done better if I prepared properly (skimming the review book less than 24 hours before taking the test = bad idea). It's not hard if you know the information. I don't think you should take Math level 2 until you take Pre-Calc (which is on there and the reason why I haven't taken it. I'm taking Pre-Calc this year).
