yes it slowly is, that doesn't mean it will eventually fly away, it's could be simply moving further away to a more stable orbit.

Yes, laser reflectors left by the Apollo missions are used to measure the distance between the Earth and the moon on a regular basis and they tell us that the Moon is receding from the Earth at a rate of 3 cm. per year.  It will eventually no longer affect tides here on Earth and the lack of the stabilizing effect that the Moon has on our planet's spin will cause the poles to wobble causing huge shifts in our seasons. Luckily this won't happen for millions of years.
