These international players can make more than they can in the NBA if they stay in Europe. We have player leaving to play in Europe. I think sooner or later European team can beat NBA teams, i am not talking about Team usa, allstar teams, but actual NBA teams vs European teams, not allstar country teams. The talent today is much greater outside the USA than ever before and without a cap over there they will have stacked teams who have no desire to come play in the USA for the NBA. There are already tons of great players in italy, greece, spain, who like to live in Europe and will not ever come play in the USA. I would love to see the top team from Europe from, Italy, spain, or greece team play the Celtics or Lakers. I think the Usa teams would be shocked. i also think the 2008 team has a much greater challenge than the 1992 team. In 92 the international teams sucked. Many on the 92 team were past their prime, Bird, Magic had Hiv. 2008 team are all in their primes and great players. At the points intheir careers the 92 team were at when they played compared to were these guys are today, i think thi team is more talented because they are in their primes. The 1992 roaster would had been beat the 2008 team only if you take their stats and abilities all in their primes the only problem is that in 1992 many were not near their primes

  1. The way I see it is the NBA still isn't as well known in some European countries and European basketball players don't grasp the level of competition of the NBA.Of course most people know of the NBA but h**l theres limited access to NBA games that are on the opposite coast of the country so think about how limited the access is in countries on the other side of the world.I remember I read an article when Yao Ming was getting drafted and it said that most of China's first time watching the NBA was when the Rockets won their back to back championships in the 90s.Theres players everywhere that could be successful in the NBA but I think some of them see professional leagues in their home country and neighboring countries as the best basketball being played or just as good as the NBA.

Another reason European and other foreign players might not want to play in the NBA is they recognize how much better the competition is and they would want to keep their status as a star player or just as being a professional player at all.I'm sure theres alot of bench players in other leagues that wouldn't be able to make a living in the NBA.Just like theres star college players that become role players when they go pro.If the league ever expands to Europe we'll see a major change in the amount of European players that choose the NBA over the other professional leagues. All the NBA needs is more exposure in new markets.

  2. the greatest difference between the NBA and the European players is that NBA players can carry a team by their lonesome while European players rely on teamwork. this is the reason why the usa team in 04 weren't successful in their olympic campaign. also, if the NBA was less attractive to the Europeans, then why are there European player playing in the big league, and its a fact that there are still other out there who wants to play in the NBA. USA players practically play above the rim, while European players have very good basic basketball skills.

  3. Well, the top Euro team can not beat the middle of tier team in NBA and that's the fact..  Many top stars in Europe still want to come in NBA and play.. anyway, Olympics use international rules which I think all of the Euro players are familiar with..
