Is the NCLB Act a good idea?

i am writing a paper on the no child left behind act and i need statistics, are there any good websites that you know of? if so please list them

i need a spacific staistic, what is the percentage of people in the US that are against the NCLB Act???

  1. I am a teacher and a parent.  I have no problem with standardized testing and making sure teachers have been trained in their field.  

    I do have a problem with holding all school districts to the same standards.  Schools on both end of the spectrum have difficulty meeting these goals.  

    Super high achieving schools have difficulty raising scores by the mandated percentages as they started off so strongly in the first place.  Disadvantaged schools have student populations who are additionally challenged by their family economics, their neighborhoods and chronically underfunded schools.  Lawmakers, however well-intentioned, have to remember that children are not all equal...standards need to reflect some of that individuality and ability.
