  1. To me, it probably is.  He could help some teams fill in with depth at the position.  My team, the Vikings could use him with the injuries they have had at the position.

  2. the lions should sign. but he is getting old and all. thats like saying in 5 years ed reed will be out of the job 2. both once the best at what they do, but getting older.

  3. the guy is asking for way too much money for his age, that why he was cut by the patriots, but he should get picked up when the season starts

  4. John Lynch used to be a top-notch safety. Now, while very competant on first and second down situations, he's become a liablity on third down situations. And even though he hurts the team on third down, he refuses to get off the field. The Broncos would have been happy with him if he had gotten off his high horse and done the job he was good at. But no. He had to be on the field all the time. While he is perhaps one of the best safeties ever to play the game, his ego is outshining his talent right now.

  5. he signed with the patriots like almost two weeks ago

    I see your point though some teams are really stacked at safety some teams and almost every team has atleast one who is reliable

  6. I'm not a mathematician but the answer could be in this equation.

    NFL + 37 yr old legs  = unemployment*

    * regardless of HOF status.

  7. Lynch is a future Hall of Famer, but he's old, lost a step or two, and gets injured a lot. Would you pay him millions of dollars if you had it?

    There's 32 NFL teams with professional scouts that know every player available inside and out. The fact that Lynch is un-signed means somethings amiss. Maybe he can't pass a physical. Or maybe he's simply past his prime.

  8. the bengals need him

  9. Have no fear...he played for Marinelli and Rod & Millen  have signed virtually every former TB defensive player that has lost his job. Surely one more cant hurt....right? Obviously he is older and has lost a step (and he wasnt exactly the fastest guy in his prime) but buy your NFL cable package and watch the Lions every sunday....and watch Lynch get one more season in.

  10. I was hoping the Packers would pick him up as we well as O'Neal who has already been signed by the Pats.  I'm not a Pats fan but you have to respect how they take aging veterans and integrate them into the team of a Super Bowl caliber team.  Anyways, there are a lot of teams that should pick Lynch up but I'm sure there's got to be something wrong with him that's why no one is touching him.  I mean even the Pats let him go and they had first hand experience with him in camp so there's got to be something wrong.  But I do agree it's unbelievable that he is without a job at the moment.

  11. First ballot Hall of Famer, that's a stretch.  Pretty good for pretty long isn't HOF worthy, at least not right away.  Let's be honest, he was never the best safety in the game, even at his best.  The Hall should be about the best, and Lynch just never was.

    And as to being signed right now, I was watching Pats-Giants preseason, and Lynch got outrun by David Carr.  David Carr!

    His HOF status is debatable, but either way, right now Lynch is done.

  12. He'll be re-signed by New England.

  13. Lynch is a Hall of Famer but I wouldnt say he's first ballot type. The reason he cant get signed is because age has caught up with him. He was a great player at one point but he's not right now. I guess teams would rather have a young player with potential to improve struggling to play safety then to have a past his prime old player struggling to play safety.

  14. He'll get picked up. Probably by a team with a young secondary so he can play as well as be a "mentor" to the young players.
