Is the NYC Subway system the only 24/7/265 service subway in the world?

I would be honored if my city has this title., but want to verify this fact.

I am looking for a system where there is about 90% service every hour of everyday of the entire year.

  1. I wish it were so but, alas, The PATH System (NY & NJ) which is separate from the NYC subway runs 24/7/365 as well.

Outside of our area - Chicago has several lines that also operate 24/7/365.  The PATCO system (NJ<>Pennsylvania) runs 24/7/365.  Other U.S. subway systems (BART, MARTA, MBTA, WMATA) shut down around 1 AM or so and start up around 5 AM.

Occasionally (special events) the London Underground may operate some trains all night but otherwise it doesn't run 24/7.

It appears that only subway/metro systems in the U.S. (mentioned above) have 24/7/365 operation.  Systems in Europe, Asia and Latin America shut down sometime around midnight or 1 AM and start up again between 4 - 6 AM.

  2. I had no idea the subway stopped running for 100 days.
