Question:

Is the Nike Luna Racer good for Cross Country races? practices?

I already have racing flats for XC; however, I need another training shoe that I can use off and on with the training shoe I currently have. I noticed that the Luna Racer isn't particularly grooved. Is it only meant on the pavement road, or can it be used on grass soccer fields and dirt roads/trails as well (for quick workout practices)? Thanks!

  1. I would suggest you not go with the Lunar Racer, just because it is a very minimalistic shoe. Meaning that the shoe has very little cushion and is for people with stronger feet/ankles.

For cross country races, try something like the Nike Forevers or The Saucony Kilkennys2. Those spikes are very good for both pavement/grass/trail courses.

Back to the Lunar Racer...yes it is for pavement road. It's more for road racing, not for cross country or track.

So thats basically the breakdown. I would definelty suggest Nike Forevers, they came out with some new ones (The only difference is the colors) but it's $40 more.

So if you look around you can find the old color Fovers for $40.

Good luck choosing your shoe and good luck this XC season!
