  1. Nuernberg is a city and Nuernburgring is the place where the racetrack is.

  2. Well Waschzub has it right or more right.  I would have translated Nordschleife as northern loop or north track, but it works either way.  Nuremberg - Nuernberg in German - is in Bavaria (actually Franken) and the Nuerburgring in Rheinland Pfalz (Rheinland Palatinate).  Formula 1 races in Germany are split between the Nuerbugring and Hockenheimring, which is near Hockenheim in Baden-Wuerttemberg.  I've been to the Nuerburgring for a stock car race.  You can also, against a fee, race as an amateur in your own car - at your own risk.

  3. Nuerburg (ü is transliterated as "ue" not as "u")

is a city of its own.

The Nordschleife ( lit. northern racetrack) is part of the whole track called Nuerburgring.

The racetrack of Nuernberg (you would call it Nuremberg) is the Norisring which is partial used as normal street if there is no car race in Nuernberg.
