Is the O.C. related to Laguna Beach?

I wanna watch the first episode ever about Lauren Conrad and her life, but I don't know whether or not it's Laguna Beach that was first or The O.C., or if they're even the same story..

The O.C is not a reality show and has nothing to do with laguna beach, hence when you watch laguna beach they say the real O.C....Lauren Conrad's new show is called the hills its way better than laguna beach

personally i'd say the o.c. is a much better and much more entertaining show.

Laguna Beach is/was a reality show on MTV.

The O.C. was a T.V. show on the WB or something.

Laguna Beach was a show that was inspired

by the show The O.C., which is a fictional story.

So Lauren Conrad is a real person on Laguna Beach,

the reality show. She had a spin-off and now you

can see her in the Hills, another reality show

The OC was created a written by (Joshua Shwartz sp? I think) a former USC student whose friends went to High School in the Newport Beach area and told him of their expeiences.

Laguna Beach as I understand it is a reality about real friends in Orange County but it is located in Laguna Beach, not Newport Beach.

hahah NOOOOOO honey. not at all. The OC is a fox drama series and Laguna Beach is a mtv reality show (laguna beach, ca is in orange county but they are diff. shows)

watch Laguna Beach. they are kinda related. The producers got the idea from the OC. The OC was scripted though. That why it is called Laguna Beach the real orange county. It was to look at what people really did in OC. But if there was no OC they wouldn't not have been laguna beach.

Lauren Conrad was never in OC though show just watch Laguna. I love Laguna and the hills

"The O.C." was a scripted one hour show that was set in Newport Beach (it was really taped in Redondo Beach which is in Los Angeles).  And Laguna Beach: The Real O.C. is a "reality" show based on people's lives who live in the "real" Orange County.  

On a side note, that is NOT the real Orange County.  That is PART of Orange County -- the rich part.  If they wanted to make the show real, they should show both parts so as not to mislead people, which they have.  And people in Orange County don't call it, "the O.C."  And why would it be "the"?  Who calls someone's county "the Orange County"?
