I mean come on, Did you guys see the scores at the British Open. No one broke par after 4 rounds. I know Tiger is just one man, but he raises the bar around him. He's the man.

  1. I agree that guy has done ten times the amount of good for golf that Babe Ruth did for Baseball.  He has changed the game: Courses have been made stupid difficult, Paychecks are bigger, ratings are higher, and public courses are packed on the weekends with wannabes.  All because of one man.

  2. No.  If this was true...Tiger would have never lost an event.

It takes SO MUCH skill to make it to the PGA Tour, let alone stay there.  Although I believe Tiger may be one of the best golfers to ever set foot on a golf course, I do not believe that he IS the sport.

  3. yes.

    stright up yes. period.

Tiger Woods is the greatest thing thats ever happened to the sport. not only is he amazing, but he is bringing the PGA more money than it ever could have hoped for without him.

Plus, the british wasnt even fun to watch without tiger... :/

  4. Did you see the wind and weather conditions and you have the audacity to call the pros JVs? Are you a plus 4 or plus 5 handicap( legitimate , now no BS ) ? If not you know not of what you speak. Actions, my friend, Actions not words!!

  5. I do agree that tigers game was prime for the conditions during the british open....that 2 iron stinger would have ruled the fairways...but i do not agree with the comment of "JV Team" there are many players that test every major....this last major was very exciting to me at least...with out tiger

  6. IMO tiger would have shot +1 to -2... tiger is great without the driver and greg norman was the only person to use a driver while everyone else was hitting woods and irons... when tiger is gone he will need a predecessor or the PGA will lose audience by the millions

  7. While Tiger is the man and the best, I'm starting to learn to like the Tour without him. We need these 20 somethings when Tiger's 40 and can't walk on his left knee. Besides, just because Tiger isn't playing sure as h**l doesn't mean I'm gonna stop watching golf. I mean, really? Let's just let everyone else have their moments and wait on Tiger to return to smash everyone yet again.

  8. Nonsense; the only Opens he's won have been in calm weather conditions (two at St. Andrews, one at Royal Liverpool; at two of them it was quite warm and dry, which suited him rather well).  The last time he played in weather like that (rain, wind)...he threw up an 81 (and this was with the first two legs of the Grand Slam won) in the third round of the 2002 Open Championship.  I still remember him losing his rag and coming undone.

The guys were playing in 35-40 mph wind.  If Woods had drawn early/late Thu/Fri (when the weather was at its worst) he would have been in the same boat.  His conditioning and fitness would have not been an issue (it helps him at the USPGA which is usually played in hot humid conditions) and wouldn't have helped him last week.
