Is the Palin family trying to sabotage the RNC and John McCain's presidential bid?

I don't get it--why would Sarah Palin allow her grandbaby's daddy to attend the Convention? Or at least, why make it public that he will be there? That's all anyone is going to focus on. What's the upside here?

  1. Sarah Palin is Dan Quayle all over again. Instead of merely making many verbal mistatements, Sarah's whole life is a mistatement.

It sounds like there is some kind of abuse of power in her life. It's like giving a child absolute power. Did you know that 50% of children born after the age of 40 have downs syndrome? She was 44!

  2. Is the media trying to sabotage the RNC would be more appropriate question. Her daughter is responsible for getting pregnant and will have to live with the consequences. End of story. Now let's hear about Ms Palin's political track record and why she's the right pick for McCain's running mate........this is far more relevant news.

  3. publicity & PR

  4. Sarah Palin is a God sent, she is the best thing to happen to the Republicans in a long time.  The whole babygate is going to blow over after the convention.  I  know she is going to shine when she gives her speech.

The American people are the most forgiving, especially when it comes to children and mothers.

  5. Lost my vote.  How could  Ms Palin be so strong for families when she treats her own so badly. What parent would want their daughter humiliated before the entire country at the age of 17.  Look at Bristol's srticken face in every recent picture.  What about the special needs child who is just a few months old? He's going to need much attention from mom & dad to reach his full potential, and the sooner the better.  How much could you care about your life partner & love , if you are ready to move somewhere where they can't practice their profession for your own power and fame?

  6. Stupidity. But die heart republicans will vote for her anyhow.

  7. No one is trying to "sabotage" the RNC.  If people out there cannot get their focus past the grandbaby's daddy then we are in pretty bad shape!

  8. It looks that way

  9. When McSame picked the Tundra Bush, he had to know this was going to happen. He's suicidal, politically speaking.

  10. to show how well her political stance on abstinence works

  11. I really don't think the fact that he'll attend the convention is that big of a deal.  It shows he supports his future mother-in-law.  That's a smart move, if you ask me.  Trust me- I have in-laws.

  12. Why?  Is McCain not trying hard enough himself?

  13. there is no upside. just like there was no upside in McCain picking this chick as his VP.

  14. Personally...I think that in the long run it will help their campaign. I am democrat but I honestly dont believe all this c**p about Trip being her grandchild. I do think she made lots of unwise and unusual choices...especially waiting to go to the doctor after her water broke. But I think that she has really been humanized and brought down to the common womans level. I dont mean that all women make terrible choices like she did...but the fact that she has a baby with Downs and a pregnant teenage daughter I think makes her easier for the average woman to relate to. I still think she is crazy for the decisions she made but at the same time she is more likeable for a weird reason.

  15. Whoever focuses on that is an idiot. He will be the husband of her daughter, the father of her first grandchilld. Why should she force him to be an absenteen figure in their lives??? I think whoever thinks he should go into hiding is a moron. Her daughter will be turning 18 soon anyways. Why should she encourage him to distance himself and split with her daughter - so her daughter can be a single mother and raise the baby on her own? Grow up people, I can't believe how immature Americans have become! Maybe because democrats have children out of wedlock without the father and don't think he's necessary? I seriously don't get it! Is she supposed to take a restraining order out on the kid? Y'all are CRAZY!

  16. Obviously it wasn't to impress you, it's to let everyone know that the republicans are just as open minded as the democrats this year.

  17. Takes the attention off of the true issues they don't want to focus on  - foreign relations, economy, etc etc

  18. Um because he's the father of her grandchild?

Do liberals really not understand family love and loyalty?  Do we have to explain this to them?

Maybe she believed Obama's line about wanting to talk about the "issues" (remember that?  no, neither do I)

  19. The Palin family marches to the tune of the RNC. Baby Daddy will be on stage to show family values.

Bristol hasn't got a ring from him yet. And he hasn't been cited for statutory rape, either, I guess because he was 17 when he impregnated her.

As to who sabotaged John McCain--that would be James Dobson, who insisted that he would support McCain ONLY if he selected Palin as VP nominee. McCain gave in and in a fit of panic said OK, without even vetting the woman.

So, there's James Dobson in July, not getting what he wants from the RNC and still angry that the christian right's support for dubya did not yield enough. Seeing that McCain was floundering and sensing that he could knock off Karl Rove and his lyin' neocons in one fell swoop, Dobson figured he would do-in McCain and the neocons once and for all, and try again in 2012.

  20. McSame stepped on his own member when he chose her.

How much is he being paid?

  21. It attracts white trash?
