Is the Palin pick just a gimmick?

She has no experience to speak of, governs the least populous state that is funded almost entirely by the oil industry, and has never traveled outside of the country. John McCain is 72 years old and he thinks it good judgement to put an inexperienced hockey mom a heartbeat away from the presidency of a country that has to negotiate it's way though a complicated world that is growing more complicated by the day. Does McCain think people are stupid enough to fall for a pretty face when our country is at such a vital cross roads. What was he thinking?

  1. He is using her as a pawn to sacrifice her to gain political points, then force her to resign and appoint who he always intended to appoint as VP, i.e., Romney who can deliver 5 Western States with the Mormon vote.  Palin will resign within the week.

  2. Only as much as the Biden pick is a gimmick.

Selecting Palin has energized the conservative base for McCain, making it much less likely that they'll stay home.

Funded by the oil industry - yeah, and they're getting pretty good deals from them, as I understand it.

Never travelled outside the U.S. - that's just a lie.  I know she's been (at least) to Kuwait and Landstuhl, Germany, visiting Alaska National Guard members.

As far as good judgment... admittedly, Palin is only marginally better qualified than Obama, but at least she has a history of having to make decisions, instead of just being told how to vote.

In this complicated world... we cannot afford the simple-minded politics-as-usual of Barack Obama.

  3. Palin is the only candidate out of McCain, Obama, and Binen who has any experience actually running government.

The other 3 are senators, Palin is a governor.

Are you saying she is just a pretty face?  Is it just me or are liberals more sexist than conservatives??

  4. I wish I knew.  What's sad is that so many people fail to see what a horrible choice he has made.  I pity our country, to be honest with you.

  5.      He just wants to win. That is the last thing we need, 4  or 8 more years of Bush mentality.

  6. They are trying to get the votes of the woman that Hillary gained.

  7. OH MY GOD...isnt it obvious....he had to one up Obama's speech and he did it, but didnt think about the whole backfire of it though...no sexist...and doest hate babies with down syndrome...just voting for Obama

  8. No...not any more than the Obama nomination.
