It sites In 1970, we imported 24% of our oil.

Today it's nearly 70% and growing.

The United States is the Saudi Arabia of wind power. Use wind power to replace natural gas and coal power plants, use left over Natural gas in cars. Natural gas cost around 1 dollar a gallon and is 98% produced in North America.

  1. mr pickens an idiot and has probaly been an idiot all his life.

  2. I agree with Pat, at least Picken is doing something.  The question we should be asking our government is why Brazil has passed us in this type of effort.  Brazil uses sugar cane to make ethanol and has reduced the import of oil to less than 5% of what they use.

  3. Using polution to make oil a lot better idea. Making more poluting systems for a few megawatts of electric power is better than some of the stupid stuff being advocated such as ethanol but it still is not good. Good engineering can be used to design systems that can reduce polution by making oil. That is a good idea-no polution lots of oil-a no brainer.

  4. At least someone is willing to put their money where there mouth is and do SOMETHING more than speak in anecdotes and rhetoric.  And for once I actually hear an argument for an alternative energy plan that intelligently correlates electric power production with Independence from Middle Eastern oil.
