Is the Proscan 100 Trackside Scanner a piece of junk?

Question

I just bought one of these scanners and have read that they have bad reception when at the race. Also I read that the ear-buds are a hassle and uncomfortable. I wanted some additional opinions. Thanks!

Personally, I don't like the scanners.  I go to a NASCAR race to watch the race.  The scanner is just more money that you don't need to spend.

I've never used that scanner, personally.  However, Proscan is an imprint of GE/RCA/Thomson, and I've personally had bad luck with every piece of RCA equipment I've ever owned.  So, I would avoid it on simply that reason.
