Is the Republican party the masculine party & the Democratic party the feminine party?

Republicans seem to have all the traits of a strict father while Democrats act more like a very caring mother. Are these differences in character traits the reason why the parties never seem to get along?

The last I heard it was Clinton and Obama crying while McCain and the republicans acted like adults and took the bad with the good. The blame game is something liberals just love to play but they forget it often leads right back to them. After the liberal controlled congress racked up the lowest approval rating yet, liberals are still trying to blame republicans for the inability of congress to do more than take an undeserved vacation.

The republican party is for the working class keeping more of what they earn.

The democrat party is for separating the working class from their money to give it away to those who won't fend for themselves. That turns in your eyes as though they are all caring like a mother.

The democrats punish success and reward failure.

I think a better analogy would be the Republicans are a Party of Do-ers. The Democrats are a Party of "Do-it-to 'yas".

The Republicand are a party of personal responsibility.

The Democrats are a Party of "Gimmie, no that wasn't enough, gimmie some more", and "no, I'm not responsible, you pay for my s***w-ups".

neither one of my parents were ..strict..but they did expect us to behave. my dad worked hard to support his family and my mom was a stay at home mom .  i am a republican , so i am not sure where that places me in this. i do think most republicans do come from family's who believe in discipline and morals. hope this helps

Yes, in some ways but I think of the dem party as more balanced. We understand more about wholistic health & are less likely to let ourselves be controlled by churchs. We are more spiritual. The democratic christians really believe in caring for the poor. Republicans are afraid of terrorists & are tighter with their money but less prosperous, look at the deficit. Republicans are more competitive & dems more co-operative.
