Is the Rogers Cup the best tournament outsides of the grand slams?

Its a great and exciting tourney, but my fave MS is probably a toss up between Indian Wells, or Miami.  The end games are pretty intense too in Shanghai. Too bad they can't play in a cleaner city -China is very polluted.

That's debatable, but I would have to say the year-end Masters Cup, which is only for the top 8 players in the race points standings (not the rankings points).  But the Rogers Cup is definitely one of the biggest and most prestigious tournaments after that, along with all the other Masters Series events.

No, it's one of the Master's Series. Prize wise, Miami tops, then Indian wells, Cincy, Roger's. Then, there are European clay series of Monte Carlo, Rome, Hamburg. The most prestigious Master's takes place in Shanghai in Nov. the last Master's. Only 8 best players for Men's Singles, and 6 Doubles group are invited. Also, players can earn large points, instead of defending. Remember, a French artist, sculptor had created life sized Terra cot-ta sculptures for 8 individual participants last Nov.

For the men, there are nine tournaments that rank just below the four grand slams. They are called the Master Series tournaments. Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Rome, Hamburg,Toronto, Cincinnati, Madrid, and Paris. Of these nine, Miami probably gets most of the top players participating. Many of these will also have a women's tournament overlapping the men's tournament, or just after.

I am biased because I live near Toronto, so yes I love it, but I think the biggest tournament outside of the Grand Slam would first be the Tennis Masters and secondly I'd say Miami Masters.

Miami Masters along with Indian Wells give out the most prize money of the Non-Slam Tournaments at 3.45 Mill for men and women.

It's also very highly regarded.

its classified as a tier 1 tournament.. it is a great tournament outside of a grand slam....  tier 1 is the best thing outside of a grand slam. but there are other tier 1 events as well..
