  1. its worth less, one american dollar will get you 23 roubles, so you be ok in money when you get there, if you bring $900.00 from us, then youll have 22,000.00 roubles. So youll be able to shop anywhere you want and enjoy yourself

  2. The dollar goes up and down with the Rubel everyday and it does range from 22-as high as 33 and also if you have eureo's you get even more because wright now the euro is the money they want but  the dollar has been around for such a long time.

  3. As others have mentioned; the ruble rate is now about 23.3 rubles to the dollar and fluctuates slightly. The extremes given in another answer showing 33 rubles to the dollar was last seen about 7 years ago. In the past year it has been in the 23 to 25 ruble range.

If you are planning on coming to Russia as a tourist, without really knowing anyone to help you find a place to stay, you can expect to pay about $200 a night min. in Moscow. Even in other less well known cities, you can expect to pay about $100 min. a night for a hotel that can sponsor foreigners. If you know someone in Russia that can help you, you can bring this cost down.

  4. it can be expensive to stay there. i hope you're not going by yourself!

if you're going to moscow, prepare for a very expensive trip, as it is not only most expensive cities in Russia, but it consistently makes the top 3 most expensive cities in the world!

guess we could give you a better idea if you'd tell us where you're going? and are your food and hotel going to be paid for.

don't expect it to be cheap, unless you're going with a russian friend and staying with them!

  5. 1 US dollar equals to 23.250 roubles. (July 14.2008)

If you are coming to Russia from the states for the first time you will be surprised how cheap everything is compared to the USA. Though if you come to Moscow, you will only notice a slight difference since Moscow is one out of the 2 costliest cities to live in Russia. (the 2nd is Saint Petersburg). Have fun, you will change your look on a lot of things in life if you will visit Russia.
