Question:

Is the SAT similar to the PSAT?

I found this great website with FREE test prep for the SAT. But I'm taking the PSAT this fall not the SAT. Will this help or hurt my score on the PSAT? Other websites with PSAT test prep cost hundreds of dollars that neither me or my parents can afford right now especially with the high gas prices. The great website is www.numbers2.com, by the way.

  1. They're very similar, except the PSAT doesn't have a writing section. I think that if you really study for the SAT, then the PSAT shouldn't be too difficult for you, but you should review material on it as well. The SAT is very important, so, you're on the right track by studying for it. Good luck!

  2. They are extremely similar, since the PSATs are basically practice SAT exams, and the scores predict your SAT scores. Studying for the SATs will definitely be beneficial for the PSAT.

The only major differences between the exams are that the SAT has an essay section that the PSAT doesn't and the SAT has more of each sections (therefore making the test longer).

  3. They are similar. The PSAT I think allows more time. The test questions are similar except the SAT asks less straight forward questions.
