  1. it depends on the college u r applying to.in a school where SAT is an important admission factor, it is important for all students.it is for most colleges.speak with a counsellor of the colleges you are luking to get thru.luk up thr websites.....some colleges require international students to take the TOEFL as well.thats easy but necessary most of the time

  2. i am an international student, a sophomore now actually in the US  and i can tell you that the SATs are really important. the only reason i have a scholarship from my university now is because of my SAT scores. most private american universities offer an entrance scholarship to freshmen who do well on the SAT.

However, there are some really good schools that will still accept you without the SATs but they are few. I only know of one actually(theyre probably others, this country is huge!) and thats Butler University in Indianapolis. theyre ranked highly and they offered me a scholarship based on my high school results from my home country.

the IB is helpful. i didnt do it, but you can get credit for some college courses with the IB and even scholarships.

the TOEFL isnt as important if you studied in an English speaking country or can show that you took your high school courses in english. i didnt take the TOEFL.
