Is the Sheraton Cable Beach Resort in the Bahamas nice?

Is it nice? Good? Bad? What kind of area is it in..or what are fun things to do nearby? Any opinions/experiences would be great!! Thanks!!

If you are looking for a room that is clean, safe and affordable., Then yes Cable Beach hotels are good.

If you are looking for luxury and  to be seen, the Atlantis is the perfect spot.

Both resorts are nice. Atlantis has lots of activites and is in a beautiful building/ acerage, check in to packages and you may find some good rate.

Sheraton is more low key,  the beach is nice, the staff is friendly and helpful the prices are a bit more moderate.

I'm more comfortable at Cable Beach than at Atlantis, but many people love Atlantis, I like the casualness of Cable Beach more than the resort feel of Atlantis.

The Sheraton is a decent hotel/resort , but I'm not a big fan of Cable Beach , I think Paradise Island beaches are nicer . The hotels in Cable Beach area have just been remodeled. The area is less crowded and much nice than Paradise Island.  PI is large and crowed. The area is extremely safe as it's an area where people live. You can catch the jitney and go downtown and back for a couple of bucks. There are several good restaurants in the area that are very good and much less than anything on Paradise Island.  There is a casino there if you insist on leaving your hard on earned money there. Over all I prefer the Cable Beach area, but then that is where I lived for 2 years.
