I know that the Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk series helicopters had replaced the Sikorsky SH-3 Seaking helo, but what about the Seasprite? Is this bird still active or has it been replaced? Thanks to all for any info on this bird!

  1. The SH-2G Super Seasprite was retired from service with the U.S Navy Reserve in May 2001 but currently remains in active service with the Egyptian Navy, the Polish Navy, and the Royal New Zealand Navy.

This page has a lot of Seasprite information and History.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SH-2_Seaspr...   Google it for lot's of pictures!

  2. They don't list is as active on the navy website, so I would assume it isn't active anymore.  You never know though.

  3. It is not a Sikorsky it is made by Kaman Aircraft in Bloomfield CT.  I used to work on them there.
