Is the Sky Caddie 2.5 a good model or should I get one of the newer models?

the 2.5 is Awesome its very basic its greatly improved with a better backlight so you can see the display better than the original 2... i really dont think you need muchg more detail picture wise the 3 and 4 are bigger the 3 takes AA batteries and the 4 is rechargable thats the only difference between those 2 and th 5 is basically in Color. i work at a golf store and always working the the skycaddies the 2.5 is great for the price you can t go wrong unless you have a hard time seeing some what smaller print.

Forget buying a single use, gps brick - if you have a smart phone (BlackBerry, Treo, etc.,) with GPS you can get better service, your course details, no synch issues, etc., for almost nothing!

If your phone doesn't have GPS, but is bluetooth able, you might still be able to use this.   OR, use the money you were going to pay for the SC and buy a new phone.
