Is the Sony DCR-SR42 HDD Handycam Camcorder a good camcorder?

I really want to buy a camcorder and I'm lost and I need some opinions.

Should I get the Sony DCR-SR42 HDD Handycam Camcorder w/ 30 GB Hard Drive

Or the JVC GZ-MG130 Everio

?

Also, How do you put the videos on the built in cameras onto your computer? Do you just plug it in and go under my computer?

Love it, but hate that it won't interface with a MAC. Otherwise, I use it for sporting events, homecoming, just about any event I want to keep.  Used it with Windows before and it worked well
