- Segregation, Jim Crow, KKK, etc.

- All the fundamentalist bible-beating creeps are from there.

Reasons why the south is cool:

- Florida

- New Orleans

- The way people talk

- Food

- Alligators

Compared to Japan...yes.

Compared to the average American...not so much.
