Do you think is racism or offensive?

I think is foolish thing they do do, cause china can use that to expel them from the tournament. and will hurt their chance for 2016 Olympic qualified.

  1. Yes the Spanish team is most definitely going to far with that picture! I find it incredibly offensive and I myself am Spanish, it makes me embarrassed for my own country's showcase of ignorance. But that's the Spanish sense of humor for you, a lot of Spaniards are incredibly racist to blacks, Asians and South Americans, I find it really sad. I've lived in the USA for the past 14 years so I'm used to another way of thinking and am always shocked at my own Spanish family's behavior whenever I visit them in Spain. Thank god the Olympics weren't held in Africa or else they would have probably done the photo shoot in blackface or something equally offensive. The Spaniards have a history of racism in sports, particularly soccer, it really is shameful but it's because, unlike the USA, the country never had a Civil Rights Movement. But with all the immigrants going into Spain nowadays, hopefully their way of thinking will start to change. I hope the basketball team gets penalized for this.

And to My Cat is Wet: What the h**l are you talking about? Jeez you're sounding as ignorant as the Spanish basketball team. The Olympics were NOT created by the n***s, they have a long history stemming from ANCIENT GREECE, I seriously doubt the n***s were around in Ancient Greece. They're very popular in Greek Mythology and originally their purpose was for religion, it was a celebration to the gods, particularly Zeus, and the Olympics were outlawed when Christians took over Europe because the Olympics were seen as a "pagan celebration," it had absolutely nothing to do with defeating other races. Jeez don't people learn the history of the Olympics in like elementary school? Honestly the ignorance of some people astounds me.

  2. I'm Asian and its not a big deal. There Sponsor is Chinese and they were messing around with him.

Anyway The Olympics were created by The n**i's to show Racial Dominance. The whole show is racist. Its Race against race. It' about dominating other countries. Its all Theird Reich Culture.

  3. When the Mongols invaded Europe, they killed all the men and raped all the white chicks in that region.  So most Caucasions have Asian blood and they should be offended as well.  No?

I don't think this is offensive.  Would Europeans think its racist if the Asian spread their eyes wide open like charles manson?

  4. China could do that.I hope they do,since I'm pretty offended myself.

    Wait,wasn't this posted just now?

  5. Offensive.  I think the Spanish want to forget about this and move on.

  6. That's terrible

  7. Its absolutely not racist nor offensive. no, not at all!

I mean just as spanish people won't find it offensive when I run an ad, featuring someone yelling out to the spanish crowd asking why they smell so foul from their BO and so hairy like the apes of the jungle with a perm.

nor would it be offensive if the Chinese people posed a picture in ape suits w/a curly hair wig representing the 'features' of the Spanish people, -- all this while standing by the official flag of spain or whatever their national 'logo' maybe...how is that for representing in good humor?

I think they'll  get a good kick out of it & appreciate the humor, don't you???

It'll just be like how they want the Chinese population to accept their ignorance.

Of course its offensive and racist! (and don't you spanish people think otherwise!-and voting negatives on people's postings)

I hope that Chinese company pulls their sponsorship till those dickheads apologize.  Or have the Chinese kick them out of the China! and Ban them!! like they did with richard gear and whoever else.

  8. I think it's a stupid idea to do that. I am pretty sure they did it just to be funny and original but it's offensive nonetheless.

  9. Only insensitive MORONS would not think this is offensive.

I just lost respect for the Spanish idiots.

  10. Hay guys I have a better picture for the Spaniards, I have a picture of an Iraqi youth putting his foot on the corpse of one of seven killed member of a Spanish military intelligence team, south of Baghdad, Iraq taken in Nov 27, 2003 I think that would be a nice gift for the Chinese people from the Iraqis and a fair picture to answer the arrogant Spaniards. Here is the web link please enjoy it

  11. yeah that is pretty far and over the line

  12. There some really insensitive jerks out there, saying "china couldn't handle it" blah balh balh. Well you what, THIS OFFENDS ASIANS AS A WHOLE, NOT JUST CHINESE (NOT ALL ASIANS ARE CHINESE)

We get made fun of for that all the time. How can they believe it wasn't offensive!!!!! Anybody with a f-ing common sense would! And the Spaniards are saying that oh it wasn't meant to be racist, oh the americans and chinese and uk whatever are more racist too blah blah. Two wrongs don't make a right! It's still f-ing offensive! They still don't understand that it is to Asians. And they even circulate that damned picture in their popular newspaper! What inconsiderate jerks! And there's even those who say it isn't racist (mostly spaniards from what I've seen and read), what b******s!

Going through the internet, I see the spaniards are adding more fuel to the fire by saying to get over it or its not racist. Well, coming from a place where it's publicly ok for a whole stadium audience to make monkey chants and throw bananas and spit and harass black english players, well they wouldn't possibly understand or be aware.

I was really furious they when I heard news of this. A good luck gesture my a-- Not offensive my butt Spain basketball team.

I'm really pissed! For those who don't understand, how would they f-ing feel if country made fun of their race and circulated it, and not admit it's racist! They either hate China (and don't understand that it offends all Asians), or just don't understand us "different people"

  13. it is racist, and very stupid of the spanish team. how can anyone think that this was even close to a good idea? mocking the chinese when the olympics are being held in china? how can the camera man take pictures of this? theyre all pretty dumb and insensitive, hope they get crushed in the olympics and i do hope barcelona is no longer in the bid for the 2016 olympics either.

  14. Anyone that has followed recent developments in Spanish sports to any degree knows there is more than a tinge of racism in this instance.  Coaches in the Spanish Federation have made private and public racist comments that are a matter of record (Aragones in 2004 and Clemente in 2006).  Black players are racially taunted (home and away games) on a continuous basis with little action from the Federation.  Bananas thrown at the player isn't an uncommon sight.  Those coaches that made racist comments were just slightly disciplined by the Federation only after outside pressure was applied.

Bigger picture, the growing immigration of non-whites from several countries (including China) into Europe has heightened racial tention in many nations across Europe including Spain.

The photo is just an extension of this misguided nationlism.  Notice statement from Spanish player (the name escapes me) basically saying it's all other peoples' misinterpretation that is to blame.  There's no sense of guilt or remosefulness whatsoever even when several groups in China and abroad have already voiced their displeasure.  I would hope that there is some sort of public apology, but I'd say it's 50/50 that that will happen.  That basketball team knew that what they did would offend and they didn't care.  To believe otherwise would be naive.

  15. It is totally racist and offensive. Are you kidding me? And the Spanish basketball team is saying it is no big deal and that the Chinese are overreacting.

How about I call the Spanish a bunch of SPICS and that they all are poor and work as janitors. Is that ok? The SPANISH MUST BE PUNISHED. PAU GASOL MUST BE PUNISHED. THIS TARNISHES THE USA TOO BECAUSE HE PLAYS FOR THE NBA.

  16. itz funny how the spanish team is coming up with ridiculous excuses for it, a wink? wtf...we all know that is an INTERNATIONAL way of making fun of the chinese, give me a break
