If you answer yes, what proof do you have that answers these?

"Recent oppositely directed trends in solar

climate forcings and the global mean surface

air temperature", Lockwood and Frolich (2007), Proc. R. Soc. A

News article at:

And this study, refuting Svensmark's theory with data.

Even Foxnews doesn't think so:

"While evidence suggests fluctuations in solar activity can affect climate on Earth, and that it has done so in the past, the majority of climate scientists and astrophysicists agree that the sun is not to blame for the current and historically sudden uptick in global temperatures on Earth, which seems to be mostly a mess created by our own species."

  1. You need proof that the sun warms the earth, are you serious?????? Haven't you ever been outside at night and then also during the day and noticed a difference?????

  2. At this point in time, there is no "scientific proof" of AGW or for that matter..... global warming period!

Until there is reliable, untainted historic temperature data to analyze, scientific proof will continue to be elusive.

For now, the AGW, aka Global Warming, aka Climate Change crowd is only able to speculate as to what our Earth's climate is doing.

I just wish that the so-called climate experts would stop suggesting that AGW is a 'done-deal'.  It most assuredly....is not!

  3. Yes and no. As the ozone layers are depleted, more and more of the sun's rays are passing through, thus causing a green house effect. This causes a gradual increase in the mean temperature globally, as a result of this more and more of the Earth's polar ice caps start to melt. This creates another problem. The ocean's currents serve as a kind of temperature regulator as the sun's rays warm the seas the currents of water circulate which keeps most of the world at a moderate climate levels.

When the polar ice caps start melting, the fresh water from the polar ice flows into the sea, this causes desalinization, which can disrupt or halt the flow of the ocean's currents.

If this ever happens the ocean current will not be able to distribute the warming rays of the sun. This could result in a global climate shift which could lead to another ice age.

The sun has not changed. People have changed,as a result of our recklessness toward our environment, we are the blame

    for for the changing climate.

  4. Past quotes from Nobel scientists---

"The energy produced by the breaking down of the atom is a very poor kind of thing. Anyone who expects a source of power from the transformation of the atom is talking moonshine."

Lord Rutherford, Nobel Laureate, after the first experimental splitting of the atom in 1933.

"There is not the slightest indication that nuclear energy will be obtainable. It would mean that the atom would have to be shattered at will."

            Albert Einstein

This says a lot about CONSENSUS "scientist's" opinions with any new development or theory.

  5. Somewhat, but that's because the suns rays (even when behind a cloud) are constantly beating down on the ocean. Water can store an immense amount of heat for a longer period of time then air.

i.e. Boil a kettle of water and see how long it stays hot, now boil a pot of air (may ruin kettle) and see hwo long it stays hot as well. You'll find water is able to store more heat, longer.

There is natural global warming, and when things die they release carbon and such (everything like plants insects humans and animals) but not enough to really worry about. Now this burning of the fossil fuels definately contributes 110% more to the warming because it's putting chemicals in the air that store heat. Together, this is a lethal combination.

  6. No.  Proof linked below.  This one is my personal favorite - no scientific study has concluded otherwise.

And of course Bob's favorite quote from RealClimate regarding the theory that the Sun is responsible for the recent warming:

"That's a coffin with so many nails in it already that the hard part is finding a place to hammer in a new one."

  7. Not everybody shares the same opinions.  The Russian Scientist are taking the lead over the American and European Scientists in this area.

As we learn more with the data from new satellites we will get a better idea of how our climate works.

Clearly co2 plays no part in the climate.  If it did, we would be as warm as the dooms sayers predicted, but now we're as warm as the 1920's, long before SUV's.

  8. Well according to the answers i got it is still not accepted as happening, sadly we need a total catastrophe to make anyone notice anything lately.
