Is the Swedish royal family descended from Gen J-B Bernadotte ( installed by Napoleon) ?

  1. Yes and no.

    The Swedish kings are indeed of the Bernadotte dynasty. But general Bernadotte was not installed by Napoleon, he was called to the throne on his own merits, though possibly out of concerns about Napoleon finding the new king acceptable. This happened when a succession crisis happened when king Gustav IV Adolf was ousted thanks to his disastrous record, and the next two successors proved childless.
