  1. Tahoe boats are built by Tracker Marine, looks like some love it and some loath it. Quality build seems to be of an issue.

Personally I've never had much dealings with them, the power plants are your regular run of the mill products Merc and O.M.C. both good.

What this really boils down to is your opinion so please don't be swayed by loose lips.

Here's a couple of links bud, the choice is yours.

Happy boating.  Look under buyer's guide

  2. FYI:

I like both answers before me...bruce's comment would be alot easier to read without the multiple CAPS words and QUOTES here and there--the content was helpful though.

  3. I like "Paul's" answer to you and I may add.  Tahoe makes a "good", "safe" boat, especially in this category, 19' (actually 18'8").  This boat will "cut" through waves with ease offering as "good" a ride as any 19'.  If buying used ALWAYS have a qualified tech inspect, approx. $150.

When used check the hours used per season.  The average usage for "boats" in America is 50 hours per season.  Check the service maintained using receipts kept and contact tech used as well.  Tech's will be honest because they want to keep the business.  Extremely important, BOATS year of manufacture, often "mis-quoted" by current owners.  This is part of the VIN located on the "right rear" and LAST two digits.  If missing, WALK AWAY, STOLEN!  Check used pricing as "boat dealers" and banks do, NADA.

Many, especially FIRST timers, "buy" a boat for "affordability" ONLY to find the "boat" is TOO small and want to save money in the MOST IMPORTANT area, the Engine.  DO NOT buy any boat with the 3.0, 4-cylinder, YOU, YOUR FAMILY, etc. WILL NOT be "happy campers", UNLESS, and the ONLY reason, YOU WILL NOT be skiing, wakeboarding, JUST tubing, and, furthermore, if the "lake" you will use is NOT crowded.  Why ALL this?  The 3.0 is NOT strong enough to "push" through heavy "wake", nor is the "power" necessary to "pull" a skiier out of the water sufficient, maybe if the skiier is expert.  If YOU put people to capacity with "coolers" and other equipment the weight WILL "bog down" the 3.0 engine.  ENGINE should be at least the 4.0 V-6, or MOST preferred, the 5.0.

Do YOU have a vehicle to "pull"?  Internet and brochures indicate boat weight ONLY.  Gasoline is approx. 7# per gallon, I usually estimate cooler, equipment at 200 to 300, then the trailor for this boat, approx. 800.  Look at this closely or YOU can burn up an engine, destroy a "rear end", etc.  Weight vehicle is towing MUST also include "bodies" in the auto as well.

Good Luck, boating is great fun.
