Remember that The Taliban was the government of Afghanistan. They were not and are not AlQueda, the organization that attacked us on 9/11/08

The Taliban "regime" was asked by our government for permission to go in and arrest \ obtain al queda members.  The Taliban regime refused and accepted the "al queda" network as its primary military defense.  We then sided with the opposition to the Taliban so there would be local autonomy.  The Taliban "regime" chose to side with the people who killed 3,000 Americans and as such met the same fate as those people.  

War is h**l.  Not everyone killed in battle is a soldier especially when your enemy hides among civilians.  I would strongly suggest that the US has done more to avoid civilian casaulties then our enemy so YES the Taliban is worse then this and is worse then the US.  If you think not - by all means go join them.

The Taliban was the government, and Al Qaida was an official part of that government, as shown in their documents.
