  1. Seen it around now for months, looks like a nice car, with the founders of google, ahrnold, etc all queuing up to get one.  It looks the part and if their costs are right it would cost a fraction of the money to run as compared to a normal internal combustion engined vehicle.  

    Just hope the price comes down in time so I can get one. :-)

A member of the local Electric Vehicle Association did a cost analysis of owning a Tesla Roadster vs. a Hummer H2.  After adding in routine maintenance and fuel cost the hummer clocked in at over $141,000 after 10 years.  The Tesla came in under $120,000.  The one thing that the guy over looked was the cost of tires which are about the same price (and expensive at $300 each times 4) but you have to change the Hummer's every 15,000 miles while the Tesla got the full 30,000.

    After 10 years you can expect to have over 100,000 miles on a car.  Think how long the battery lasts in your portable devices.  After 3 years you can expect significant reduction in performance.  A 10 year battery is pretty good.
