  1. Yes. House placements and angles in particular are extremely important in a composite chart, and you can't figure those out without a birth time.  


  2. The answer is Yes for the most accurate reading possible.

    Without the exact time for one or both individuals, we would have to use a default time like 12noon, which doesnt accurately portray the Ascendant and House placements. This in turn will lead to the inaccuracy of the composite Ascendant and House placements in the Composite Chart.

    The sign placements for the Composite chart can still be determined accurately but the Ascendant and House placements won't be, so you might wish to forgo those two aspects. However, the House placements are as equally important as the sign placements for any chart so it's best to have the exact birth times ready in hand.
