  1. It's about the same size as Corolla, Civic and they considered small. They considered small car for years. Only since a few years ago came even smaller cars, the Echo, now Yaris, Fit, etc. Should they called "tiny cars" so Matrix, Corolla would be small car? Or maybe  Call these small cars and Matrix, Corolla, Civic should be medium sized car? Good question. Well, there are a lot of much larger cars and huge SUV's, so I guess people say Matrix is small. Are these people own larger cars? I just noticed yesterday, I said "how is that little Escape?" And no, the Escape is not little (I used to have one and loved it), but to me, who has a 4Runner, it's "little".. Did not mean to hurt feelings or anything, I guess I just said it without really thinking how it's could sound. If It would be a Tahoe, I would probably go, like how is that huge thing? Sometimes just choice of words.. Anyway I love the Matrix too, great car, not small, so don't worry about this.

  2. Small is a perception. If others see it as small, then it is small to them. Go to any rental car website, look at  their definitions. They call a Ford Crown Victoria a medium size. But a Lincoln, the same size as the Ford, is a Luxury size. Or a premium size. Guess a Hummer H1 would be a Star Trek Enterprise Size. By the way, is a Big Mac bigger than a Mac? And how can you have jumbo shrimp?\

OK, my rant is over. I drive a Ford Van so, yep, your Toyota is a small car.
