  1. about the least

  2. As someone who has traveled the world extensively, the US has far more angst with regard to racism. Ironically enough, I notice more RESENTMENT coming from the black community and dwelling on past injustices which happened 50 years ago.

In order for America to "get over" racism; it must happen by ALL races otherwise it will never end.

  3. the USA isn't... but some of it's people are still racist, as well as sexist.  It can take a really long time to erase hate and intolerance...

  4. Do we have racists? Yes

Over all are we racists? No

We go out of our way to be sensitive to other races.

When Africans coming here are out doing the African-Americans born here tells me it isn't because of race.

The only racism that makes press is when the charge is made about white racism but nothing is said about black racism.

Yes race is an issue in the country but we are doing far better than lots of other countries.

  5. Far less than so many other countries!  France is the worse and they are in stone-cold denial.

  6. Of course there is some racism in the US, like everywhere, but more than that, the USA is a classist country. There is a strong correlation between class and race for a number of reasons, including racism (past and present). It's also easy to find racism here because we so adamantly protect free speech, no matter how unpopular, but that doesn't make the country as a whole racist.

Historically, there have been some regions that are much more racist than others, and when you go there, you find that holds true today much more than I would have expected, but much less than a generation ago and the racism that is still around is consistently decreasing.

So in short, its a problem, especially in certain regions. We're working on it, but there are some reasons the problem seems bigger than it is, and its not as bad as many other nations.

  7. Of course it is.

Anyone that disagrees with a black person on anything whatsoever is a racist and too many people in America have too many different opinions.

    Therefore... Racist.

  8. we will be as long as under-qualified minorities get preferential treatment through affirmative action.every qualified Caucasian that gets passed over for a less qualified minority is a potential bigot being born.and unfortunately they are then justified.

we need desperately to return to a meritocracy.h.clinton is much more qualified than obamma yet was passed over for the under- qualified black candidate.this occurs many times over in the day to day hiring practices of corporations ,and acceptance of colleges.

further we allow the bigoted institutions [pro-black,Hispanic only]like the united negro college fund, black [exclusively] colleges, clubs, even Farrakhan's mosques.yet we ban the reverse.try to establish a all white church, all white college, scholarship program only to benefit white children and see how fast you get shut down.

  9. No the United States is not a racist country. The playing field is indeed leveled for all. Instead the United States is a country with some racist people in it. I suspect this makes us no different than any other country in the world. Racism is a not a political, or national phenomenon, it is a cultural one.

  10. it is more so now, than say a year ago.

    thanks Mr. O.....you did this!

  11. Let's see, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, right to bear arms, right to elect officials....yea we are pretty racist...

Are we perfect no we are not, but that is what makes this country so great. We have our difference of opinion and we have the right to voice them...What other country allows you the freedoms you have here, if we are such a racist and terrible country why are so many trying to get in?

  12. Parts of the United States are very racist and then again other parts are not. Towns like Jena Louisiana or small towns in Mississippi or South Carolina have sytematic and indemic racism making up the fiber of the community.

Then again LA, NYC, ATL, SEATTLE, DALLAS, MIAMI, CHICaGO, are very comfortable places where you can go long periods of time and avoid most issues of out right racism.

  13. Not at all.

  14. Yes it is a BARBARIC, RACIST, IMPURE, TOXIC, FASCIST, EVIL AND MERCILESS country and here is further proof that the USA is behind a mass campaign of genocide in South and West Asia. Yes the worlds most racist country is killing my ancestoral motherland, who has never threatened nor invaded another country during its existence and now the American's will ethnically cleanse us out of existence.

    USA IS RACIST 100%

  15. Yes. And evidence of that is everywhere. The gangs are grouped by race and have killed those of a different race that are in their territory-a teen age girl was just one such victim.

There is the "racial" profiling practiced but denied by law enforcement.

Even our leaders and hero's get caught, from time to time, making comments (not knowing that their mikes are still on) and it has been shown to be taught by ministers in sermons to their congregations on Sunday mornings.

  16. Look around the globe.  Look at how many other countries have even nominated a minority member of their population to be the leader of their country.

After you do that, you'll see how racist the USA is.   You want real racism?  Look at places like Japan, China, Sweden, Italy, Syria, India, Venezuela, and Sierra Leone.

  17. Although there are, and always will be, racist people in this country, the nation as a whole shouldn't be described as racist.

  18. Yes.  White males, due to affirmative action, are denied employment, education and Gov. assistance due to ethnicity.

Racism, by its simplest definition, is discrimination based on the racial groups to which people belong.

  19. Yes.

  20. Does racism exist?? Certainly...as it does in any country in the world.

The USA is undoubtedly the greatest melting pot in the world, comprising people from every country on Earth. The opportunities are great for people of any race. We have people of different races that are Presidential candidates, members of Congress, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, doctors, lawyers, business executives, teachers, etc...every job field that exists...

  21. It has some racists in it like any other, but as an entity it isn't.

  22. No more or less then any country that I have been to

    Japan?

    Mexico?

    Germany?

    Holland?

    and even

    Canada!
