Is the U.S. Congress our heroes or just bloodsucking parasites?

Day after day they continue to do nothing of any consequence except bail out finance corps and shift bad debt to federally back institution like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The Fed is another way they shift the bad debt and eliminate their mistakes. But the tiny, individual citizens don't stand a snow ball's chance in h**l. They just toss out a bogus "stimulus package" while they prepare for a major economic meltdown. Just buying time to make their getaway. Just slip out the back, Mac. Get it offshore, Stan.

  1. the true vampires are bush and cheney.  But congress is to blame for our problems as well.  instead of impeaching bush they keep caving in to him.  instead of sending him to the war crimes tribunal for aggressive war, torture and violations of geneva conventions...they keep funding his perpetual criminal war.

  2. I would like to see a law put into place that they can only be senator for eight or ten years, then they have to step down.  They lose touch with the public.

  3. One bloodsucking parasites is more than we need, but the nature of the job allows many who entered Congress with good intentions to succumb to temptations.  Other than voting, there are ways to get rid of them, but we don't want one of the alternatives...to be governed by a dictator.  (Hmm...come to think of it, maybe we have both!)  Some of them, however, still care about the rest of us...I hope!

  4. Congress is completely intertwined with lobbies and corporations, corporate interests are put before the well being of the citizens. What do you think???

The most effective way to restrict democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: kings and princes, priestly castes, military juntas, party dictatorships, or modern corporations.

  5. They have only a 9% approval rating... They would kill (and probably have) for Bush's 35%...

  6. I'll go with the latter. Well, the majority of them anyways.

  7. That's about it.
