  1. Maybe. However, they want to remain sovern. Anyone that wants to remain independent can not have anyone buy up their country and change it. Big money has a way of doing that. Look at all the purchases of American interest-business-real estate in the past year. With the weak dollar everything is on sale. Investment is always a good advantage to growth. However, if you lose your identity or have none at all in the process, it won't be long till you have nothing and must start over. Branding is very important to individuals who wish not to lose their identity. It appears that the UK does not wish to have others running their banking system. It will cost them to do this. History will judge if this was a good decision.
