It's hard to believe 4 years have passed since the 2004 olympics in which the US mens baketball team lost three games and previous to that only two games had ever been lost by a US basketball team in the olympics games. Is 2008 the year for the US mens olympic team to redeem themselves or will another team steal there glory?

  1. No... typically all star teams of professionals made up of the best players in the world who play for many different teams practicing together as a unit for a matter of weeks usually end up in a competitive competition losing to a younger, hungrier, team oriented sports team made up of players of lesser talent who have played and practiced as a team for a number of months.  These lesser teams with lesser players are motivated for reasons far beyond what the average multi millionaire sports superstar would be as a NBA player is already set for life with little motivation to achieve even a NBA championship as that player already has a bank account larger that what an average American will make all of his or her working life.

Whomever is the hungriest will win against the best athletic team in the world as long as that hungry team has enough talent to keep the game close.

Real teams who play as a team and know each other almost always beat the best all star team thrown together in a few weeks.

Maybe bronze again in 2008 for the USA NBA superstars... while the 1972 USA men's basketball team of young amateurs still have their Silver Medals tarnishing away in some vault as that 1972 young USA amateur basketball team was robbed of the Gold twice in one game as that 1972 team boycotted the medal ceremony where they won the Gold Medal game when the final buzzer sounded the first time back in 1972 only to have some Olympic official come out of the stands to order that the game not end, have additional time put back on the clock, and give the Soviet professionals one last chance to beat a much younger USA amateur team.

  2. Yeaaa- Dwyane Wade is back!!

  3. yeah... definitely...

the roster is more than amazing, and team usa is beating every other team by an average of 20+ points...

    its not even trying....

i think theyre gonna go all the way....  and win it all

  4. Yes. In my heart and in my mind, this years squad will take the Gold for the Red, Blue, and White. Why? Kobe Bryant. With all the talent surrounding him, he wouldn't let himself embarrassed by losing to other nation with that much talent. He'll do everything he can to win this for US. But, I'm also worried. Why? The game against Australia, what went wrong? There's also Greece, Spain, and Argentina that can seriously challenge US supremacy.

  5. they will win the gold

  6. Ya we are GO USA

WE BRINGIN HOME THE GOLD BABY!!

  7. I doubt it. You saw (or heard about) how they played against AUS.

  8. No

  9. I went to a Lakers game last year and the Lakers weren't playing with their heart into it.

The Celtics won championship this year because they wanted it more and put up a good defense and moved the ball around.

The team that will win the Olympics, will be the one who puts forth the best work ethic. Other teams have talented players who now play in the NBA. The USA team has the talent, but we will see if the Gold medal means enough for them to matter. I hope that Kid can keep them all working as a team. We have a lot of star players which is not always the best thing.

  10. Yes I hope so. USA USA
