Is the US govt going to compensate tomato growers?

The false salmanilla scare resulted in large crop losses. Is the FDA going to compensate the farmers who suffered the losses?

  2. I highly doubt that.

    If anything came out of this, at least we can hope the vegetables we get from Mexico are better inspected.

  3. That would be the task of the USDA. I think the compensation would only go to large corporate farms if there was any. That is how corporate welfare works in America.

  4. Maybe if they had better working conditions for the people that pick their tomatoes, they wouldn't have to use the bathroom on the ground and there would be no salmonella scares in the first place.

    Farmers are already obscenely rich in the US and oversubsidized.
