  1. Interesting ! Seems however you are asking two questions . Uk is 4 unitary parts of which England is but one . I live in a rural part not in England and life is pleasant , rewarding and enjoyable . I drove today some 30 miles today on a narrow road People stopped to let you pass gave a  smile and a wave .Spoke with a handful of Polish workers on country house renovation job I am involved with They have integrated already and would like to remain here . I visit  England twice a year . A rural part - again life seems to be quite OK . Cities be they Leeds , London or Glasgow are a  different ball game Sure if I was there for any length of time doubt have a different view point !!

  2. England is becoming a worse place to live because we as a nation have become soft and apathetic, due to our luxurious lifestyles. The very fact that nearly everyone has a high standard of living, such as a home, electricity, tv, internet, plenty of food and drink, a car, a mobile phone (i could go on!) means that we have no interest in making england a better place to live, cos we'd rather go and watch big brother 9 than confront the yobs that turn our streets into no-go areas.

S'true. Britain could be great again, but no one seems to care

  3. Its not great but then many countries aren't much better.

You take any western country and yes they may do some things better than us, but there is a negative where ever you live.

There will always be crime, though i do agree youths are far less respectful than they were 20 years ago, its the change of times, many things have got better.

Its a better way of life for many, but in comparison it is worse for others.

  4. If it is, the vast majority of the world is in a worse place.

I've got clean water, a roof over my head, and no-one's shooting at me.

I don't have to worry if I can afford to go to the doctor, and there is a doctor.

I can afford to buy bread and rice.

The summers aren't over 30, the winters aren't  below -10.

    The Army doesn't do politics.

If you throw a dart at a globe, the chances of you hitting a better place are..?
