Is the United States going to undergo another "Great Depression" soon?

Hmmm... it might be triggered by these whole energy crisis (oil?), or another major war (with China or Middle East? Who knows?).

What do you think then? Is this quite plausible?

no.  people will have to learn to deal with having a car instead of a truck or suv.  not having a boat or lots of other toys.

times were worse in 1976 to 1980. i think that you may see war on our soil before depression  but anything is possible

For as bad as it is, it isn't as bad as it has been.  Both inflation rates and unemployment rates remain in single digits, though the cost of energy is skyrocketing and other prices are rising as a result.

I don't see either a bigger war nor a depression, though this slowdown we are experienceing may last through the winter.
